Parking on the streets 

Parking on the street in Luxembourg and especially in Luxembourg City is not an easy task. There are few parking spaces compared to the number of motorists. Plus, there are different types of zones and parking rates are different for each zone.

Parking zones in Luxembourg

White zone

  • Free parking from Monday to Saturday from8 am to 6 pm
  • Parking time limited to 30 minutes

Orange zone

  • Paid parking from Monday to Saturday from8 am to 6 pm
  • Parking time limited to 2h
  • Price: 2€ per hour

Yellow zone

  • Paid parking from Monday to Saturday from8 am to 6 pm
  • Parking time limited between 3h and 5h
  • Price: 1€ per hour

Green zone

  • Paid parking from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm
  • Parking time limited to 5h
  • Price: 2€ for the three first hours - 1,50€ per hour for the 2 last hours

Purple zone

  • Paid parking from Monday to Friday from8 am to 6 pm
  • Parking time limited to 10h
  • Price: 0,50€ per hour

Here is a table with all the above information. There is an exemption system when you park your car in the vicinity of a station for example.

Parking zones in Luxembourg parking in the street

If you reside in Luxembourg, you can, however, obtain a resident parking card, issued by the municipal administration. This card will allow you to park in the city without having to pay the daily parking fees.

Price for the resident parking card:

  • First card: free
  • Second card: 60€/year
  • Third card: 120€/year
