Where to park in Brussels European District?

April 10, 2019

Being the nerve center of the European Union and its institutions, as well as a privileged crossing point to reach Brussels from the cities of Wallonia and Flanders, the European district is an area where parking has become more and more complicated over time.

To avoid spending an hour looking for a parking spot in your car, being pissed off behind the wheel, try these solutions!

Free parking on street in the European District in Brussels

A free parking solution is available on some streets of the Brussels European District. Here are the streets involved and the terms and conditions applied to them.

Rue Belliard and rue Vautier

  • Free parking
  • No time limit

The streets around the Square Ambiorix and Parvis Marie Louise

  • Free parking (with the blue disk)
  • Parking time limited to 2 hours

However, you are not guaranteed to find a parking space every day, and at all hours of the day. In addition, some areas of the neighborhood may be closed due to European Summit, making parking in these areas complicated and tense.

So this solution can be considered if you come to this area very occasionally and don't mind spending more time in your car to find a parking space.

If you visit the European District on a daily basis, then choosing a subscription in one of the parking lots in the area is an ideal solution. Workers in the neighborhood will be able to park their cars safely and be sure to find a parking space every day.

In order to make the search for a parking space even easier, we have gathered information about private parking lots in the area; we have also grouped the parking lots according to their location close to the 4 main arteries of the European Quarter:

Rue Belliard

Crossing the European district from side to side, this street is the junction between the Avenue des Arts and the train stations of Brussels-Luxembourg and Schuman. Below you will find the various parking lots located less than 500 meters from Rue Belliard.

Avenue Cortenbergh

Marking the end of the European District, this avenue is very close to the train and metro station Schuman, allowing to go to other regions via the train and to the center of Brussels via the metro. You will find bellow the private parking lots near the Avenue Cortenbergh.

Avenue des Arts

Also one of the avenues defining the European district. Three major metro stations are present on this avenue such as the stations Trône and Arts-Loi, serving the city center of Brussels. Here are the available parking lots located near the Avenue des Arts.

Rue de la Loi

This long street connects the metro station Arts-Loi, allowing to reach the city center of Brussels and the Parc du Cinquantenaire via Brussels-Schuman station. Here, you will find all the public and private car parks located less than 500 meters from the Rue de la Loi.
